Thanks Tristan. Very helpful, and that was a great idea to put the video in text for those who don't have sound.

Very good, but too many #$%@s.

very good!
BTW, there is another good solution, as following.

1. Login to a computer that can link to Internet. Download Windows Password Unlocker 4.0 at http://www.passwordunlocker.com and decompress it on that PC. Note that: there is a .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD.
2 Get out the newly created CD and insert it to the locked computer.
3 re-booted the locked computer and then followed the process of instructions. Just a few steps, the old password was removed.''
'4 Setting new password:
Step one: Open the "Control Panel"
Step two: Click the "User Account "
Step three: Select the account you wanna to set a new password.
Step four: Click "changing Account " and "set up password", then fill out the form as listed. Click "Create Password".

TO RESET ALL PASSWORDS inclusive of admin passwords remove the small internal battery for a few minutes the replace it..all passwords will be reset.
REMEMBER TO SWITCH OFF YOUR COMPUTER FIRST REMOVE ALL CABLES BEFORE OPENING YOU PC/LAPTOP AND ALWAYS WARE A (ESD) STRAP TO AVOID DAMAGING COMPUTER COMPONENTS WITH STATIC. REMEMBER THAT I REFERE TO THE SMALL COIN SHAPPED BATTERY NOT THE BOX UNIT YOU WILL FIND HOUSED AT THE TOP OF TOWER UNIT (THIS IS THE POWER SUPPLY UNIT AND HAS NO SERVICEABLE PARTS AND MESSING WITH IT COULD RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK)SO REMEMBER (SMALL SILVER COIN SHAPPED BATTERY AND ITS EASY TO FIND ON THE MOTHERBOARD AVOID GETTING SWEAT FROM YOUR HANDS ON THE BATTERY TO HELP AVOID BATTERY CORROSION).hopethis help.x

..helpful..thanks..

It is really helpful. But when I try to log in to administrator with safe mode, the system keeps saying the password is incorrect. I have repeated this procedure several time but to no avail. So I give up and then bought some software.

We tried all your helpfully comments. But still now, nothing was helpful. What can we do, when a hacker set a password on the pc? the Start up password for the system is asked. So there is no possibilities of "Run window" or safe mode. After two entries the pc restarts.

I have a Sony vaio running on Windows xp logged out and forgot the password. I typed it in multiple times on what I think it was but nothing happened. So I searched on google for solutions and then found your post. Thanks to this WINDOWS PASSWORD KEY. It reset my Windows XP password within just 4 minutes. So amazing!

I have an All In One Pc windows 7 with a start up password and i don't remember the password. I took out the small internal battery and it did not help. Please help :(
