How to Change Your Computer (PC) Processor Name!

For Those Of You Who Are Wondering What Might Just Be A Processor, A Processor Is Like A Computer Brain. It Allows The Processing Of Numeric Data, Meaning Information Entered In Binary Form, And The Execution Of Instructions Stored In Memory.



FACT: The first microprocessor (Intel 4004) was invented in 1971. It was a 4-bit calculation device with a speed of 108 kHz. Since then, microprocessor power has grown exponentially. 



 To Begin:



1. Open The Registry Manager {You Must Be The Administrator or Have Administrator Rights}



Start >Run >Regedit.exe





2. Navigate to the following registry



Hkey_Local_Machine\Hardware\Description\System\CentralProcessor\

& or

Hkey_Local_Machine\Hardware\Description\System\CentralProcessor\0\

& or

Hkey_Local_Machine\Hardware\Description\System\CentralProcessor\1\





3. Find The Key “ProcessorNameString





4. Right Click The Key And Modify {For Example: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     T7100  @ 1.80GHz }



To View The Changes You Might Need To Restart Your System And Right Click My Computer >Properties
